Heartbreak, a heavy load to bear,

A pain we try to hide and spare,

Why is it so hard to recover?

Why does it cause such deep despair?

Fatigue, pain and aches so real,

Emotions we cannot conceal,

The aftermath of love gone wrong,

Can leave us feeling far from strong.

And why does it hurt so much,

When we didn't even enjoy the actual toxic relationship?

A breakup can feel like the end,

Even when the love was just pretense.

The heart wants what it wants,

But when it's broken, it haunts,

The mind and body, day and night,

Leaving us struggling to see the light.

But we must remember to heal,

To take the time to truly feel,

And in time, we'll find our way,

To a brighter and happier day.

So let your heartache run its course,

And trust that time will bring a force,

Of healing, strength, and new love to explore,

And a heart that's ready to adore.
