WHY LIGHTOFLIGHTS EXISTS
There’s a reason it feels this heavy.
For a long time, talking about how you feel hasn’t been easy.
You say “I’m fine” when you’re not.
And sometimes, it’s truly complicated. Not everyone can understand exactly how you feel.
So you stay quiet, Keep things to yourself, and try to deal with everything alone.
Even when you just want to be heard and understood.
And for a while, it works.
Until everything you've been holding in starts weighing on you.
It all builds up and shows up in different ways.
You start overthinking everything. Sometimes, you feel anxious, even when nothing is wrong on the surface.
Feeling low, without knowing why.
Struggling to find the energy for things that used to feel normal to you.
Other times, it shows up in your relationships too. You try to talk things through, but still feel unheard. Or misunderstood. And somehow, still feeling like you're the only one in it.
Sometimes, there's just tension at home.
In your marriage. In your family.
You say less, just to avoid another argument.
And some days, you just feel off.
Like you're losing yourself.
And not knowing exactly how to explain it.
Well, that's not weakness.
That’s what happens when you’ve been strong for too long. Without anywhere to put things down, feel understood, and talk about them honestly.

What you've been carrying...
was never meant to be
carried alone.
SINCE
2015
Why we built Lightoflights
Lightoflights didn’t start as a service.
It started with words.
Back in 2015, before people really talked about mental health,
before most people even had the words for what they were feeling,
we shared simple, honest, and relatable notes for people going through a lot.
Heartbreak.
Anxiety.
Depression.
Loss.
The kind of things people carry quietly.
People read them.
And something about it stayed with them.
So they reached out.
Not because they needed advice.
But because they needed someone to talk to.
Someone who would actually listen.
Over time, it became something more.
Not a place that tries to fix you.
But a place where things start to make sense.
Where you can talk freely, feel understood, and not have to carry everything on your own.
Today, we work with people across Nigeria and beyond.
Not because we were trying to grow.
But because people felt something real here.
They came back.
And they told someone else.
We believe healing should feel honest.
Not forced. Not rushed.
“The sessions made it easier to talk about things I couldn’t say anywhere else.”

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
Or have the perfect words.
You just need somewhere to begin.
